What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Floor Technician position at Benewah Community Hospital?
Responsible for overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet, including but not limited to; stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting throughout the Hospital and Clinics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following.
- This position requires the use of specialized power equipment.
- Comply with all safety requirements and procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
- Secure work area and post proper safety notices prior to beginning work.
- Perform all aspects of floor care including but not limited to:
- Routine mopping (dry and damp).
- Buffing and burnishing all hard surface floors and stairwells.
- Vacuuming, Shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
- Routine maintenance of floor care equipment.
- Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
- Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances.
