Teacher Assistant (Elementary)

Our Teacher Assistants are supported and work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, coaches, grade clusters, SPED, and specialists to ensure that Banneker students thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Implementing the teacher’s lesson plans and maintaining daily classroom schedules
- Assisting small group, whole class, or individual students
- Using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies, as directed by the teacher, to meet individual student needs
- Ensuring the well-being and safety of children at all times
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience in elementary education preferred
- Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills
- Work well independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work well with students with various learning needs
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
