Position Overview :
This role is key to Franklin Cummings Tech's efforts to promote and grow its Biotechnology associate's degree program.
In the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters, the Lecturer for Early College in Biotechnology will teach two Early College courses. The Lecturer will also support Admissions efforts by conducting high school visits with members of the Admissions team and assisting otherwise as needed. In addition, the Lecturer will plan and run a three-week Summer Biotech Accelerator program to prepare selected incoming students for their first semester of classes.
The college is seeking an educator with a passion for teaching, learning, and student success, as well as good organizational skills. The instructor must have experience teaching or working with high school students. This benefits-eligible role is a part-time faculty position at 30 hours per week. This grant-funded position ends on December 31, 2025. Renewal is not guaranteed.
Requirements
Plan and lead a three-week pilot Summer Biotech Accelerator program in Summer 2025.
- Collaborate with the Program Chair for Biotechnology and colleagues in Admissions and Student Success to develop a Summer Biotech Accelerator
- Serve as project manager and lead for the Accelerator, ensuring that curriculum, space, materials, etc. are ready.
- Teach a portion of the curriculum.
- Document outcomes to assess the success of this pilot.
Collaborate with Admissions to increase applications and enrollment in the Biotech program.
Teach two Early College classes in Spring 2025 and two classes in Fall 2025.
