GENERAL FUNCTION:
Function as an Academic Instructor in a classroom setting, providing instruction in skills necessary to master academic competencies. Provides engaging instruction, administers tests, and evaluates progress in reading, writing, social studies, science and mathematics understanding and proficiency. Identify and use appropriate materials for the students being taught and the department goals established.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops and delivers integrated, learning content in multiple modalities to include computer assisted, small group, large group, and individual ensuring that provides for various kinds of learners (auditory, kinesthetic, etc). Curriculum and learning activities will be rigorous and relevant.
2. Promotes an active learning environment that is a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum learning.
4. Utilizes the CIS system to tailor classroom instruction, identify resources and establish and monitor student learning benchmarks
5. Follows accountability procedures and counsels’ students regarding the importance of class attendance.
6. Strives to achieve Center and departmental goals, and helps the Center meet targeted standards in terms of Performance Measurement Standards.
7. Conducts class in compliance with Policy and Requirements Handbook, Corporate Standard Operating Procedures, Center Operating Procedures, and the MINACT Positive Center Culture System.
8. Ensures that all required materials and equipment are maintained, inventoried, and being used correctly.
9. Maintains and secures classrooms, storage areas, materials, and equipment.
10. Arranges classroom to facilitate learning, easy access to materials, student work folders, class information and supplies.

11. Develops, monitors, and documents student learning goals that are specific to the student and informed by the student’s abilities and goals. These are to be documented on the ESP.
12. Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate and assist each student as the need arises.
13. Provide tutoring as needed and requested to ensure that the department meets the necessary goals.

- Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree and certified to teach in state in which center is located.
