Assistant Traffic Engineer - Sacramento
Bennett Engineering is seeking an Assistant Traffic Engineer to join and help in expanding team of design professionals in Sacramento. This position offers the opportunity to work on various public infrastructure and private development projects, including Traffic Signal Designs, Roadway Lighting Design, Intelligent Transportation System, Pedestrian/Roadway Safety, Multi-modal Operations, Signing, Pavement Delineation, and Work Zone Traffic Control.
Position Summary: As an Assistant Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, analysis, and implementation of traffic engineering projects. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers, contributing to the development of traffic engineering plans and traffic operations analyses.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in the design of traffic signal systems, signage, and roadway striping.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Perform traffic safety analysis and evaluate the effectiveness of traffic control devices.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Participate in site visits and field assessments to collect data and observe traffic conditions.
- BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering
- EIT preferred but not required.
- MS Degree and/or 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Blue Beams, AutoCAD
- MicroStation, Synchro, SimTraffic preferred but not required.
