Bennett Engineering is seeking a Mid-Level Traffic Engineer to join and help lead our expanding team of design professionals in Sacramento. This position offers the opportunity to work on various public infrastructure and private development projects, including Traffic Signal Designs, Roadway Lighting Design, Intelligent Transportation System, Pedestrian / Roadway Safety, Multi-modal Operations, Signing, Pavement Delineation, and Work Zone Traffic Control.
Position Summary : A Mid-Level Traffic Engineer manages and executes traffic engineering projects under the supervision of a Senior Traffic Engineer. The typical traffic engineering projects involve preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and work zone traffic control. They collaborate with team members and clients, use engineering software to prepare traffic and photometric analyses to ensure compliance with regulations. This role involves preparing technical reports, managing project timelines and budgets, and serving as a bridge between junior engineers and senior management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projects.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling.
- Perform work under an agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
