Position Summary: As a Project Manager for Water Resources, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, design, and execution of water supply and/or wastewater projects, including conveyance, pumping, storage, rehabilitation and treatment systems. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and regulations. The Project Manager provides innovative consulting, planning, and engineering solutions across the entire water cycle, from supply to treatment, and ensures projects are completed with quality on time, within scope, and budget
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- New client engagement
- Manage project pursuits, proposal development, and interviews for projects.
- Participates in the development of proposals for clients including development of innovative solutions, resource allocation, and preparation of project approach scope, budget, and schedule.
- Organizes, drafts, and coordinates production of design work ensuring technical accuracy and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
- Leads and mentors junior staff creating opportunities and providing advocacy.
- Manages subconsultants including scheduling and deliverables as well as budgets and invoicing.
- Manages project scope, budget, and schedule and communicates with group sector and company on status.
- Tracks project costs and deliverables to successfully fulfill contract and project commitments and budgets.
- Develops, grows, and maintains client relationships and acts as a liaison between internal and external partners.
- Approves engineering deliverables including stamp and signature, where applicable.
- Reviews and approved invoicing to clients
- Provides technical review and back check for other sector projects.
- Performs various management, leadership, and resource accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department including quality assurance.
- Knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering sectors, generally with expertise in particular areas of civil engineering relating to water resources, hydraulics, water, wastewater, or hydrology
- Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to the field of work with minimal supervision.
- Manages a team of sub-consultants, engineers, and/or technicians and coordinates the tasks and workflow of a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering
- 3 to 6 years of related project management and/or team leadership experience and/or training
- 10 to 16 years of Civil Engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working in and managing a team of technical staff in multiple disciplines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including public and client presentations
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Edge, Project)
