What are the responsibilities and job description for the Terminal Clerk position at Bennett Motor Express?
Job Summary:
Enters orders in to the computer, enters bill/pay in TMS, orders routing permits both on line and by telephone, answers telephone, Organizes drivers delivery paperwork( attaches permits to BOL and puts blanket permits with drivers paperwork daily for next days loads).
Job Duties:
- Assist the Terminal Manager closely to make sure all drivers are legal, which includes correct routing permits, available driving hours, no out of service violations, etc.
- Order entry in TMS, enters Bill/pay and completes loads on TMS. Faxes delivered paperwork to home office so invoicing and driver pay can be done.
- Orders all routed oversize permits for all states by phone or online. Keeps a permit log for all permits ordered and sends list to home office monthly
- Monitors expiring documents on Drivers and trucks & sends new documents to home office before expiration dates
- Answers telephone system and processes calls to correct person.
- Sends site delivery form by fax to customers to sign before driver hooks to units that are to be delivered to retail site instead of sales center.

- Helps Terminal Manager get paperwork ready for Drivers by attaching routing permits or blanket permits to BOL. and carries to box for Drivers to pick up for next days work.
- Gets logs and fuel envelopes from drivers, faxes logs to home office and mails fuel envelopes and fuel receipts to home office.
Qualifications:
- High School or Equivalent
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Customer Service Skills
- Excellent Communication Skills
