Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director to oversee our district's food service operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills.

This role involves managing kitchen staff and ensuring food safety compliance. The Food Service Director will play a crucial role in menu planning and maintaining operational efficiency within the food service department.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Displays a thorough knowledge of the position.
- Monitors and adjusts activities to meet district and position needs. Communicates effectively.
- Maximizes time on task.
- Generates a sense of enthusiasm.
- Interviews, screens, and recommends appointment of all cafeteria personnel.
- Standardizes personnel policies, levels of cleanliness, health, and safety.
- Administers personnel policies and evaluates cafeteria personnel.
- Prepares specifications and bid conditions for all items requiring such bids by law or Board policy.
- Completes application for government commodities for school cafeteria use, and directs its distribution.
- Follows cafeteria accounting procedures in cooperation with the District Finance office and CDE.
- Makes all applications for federal commodities.
- Completes monthly claims for Federal reimbursements for Breakfast, Lunch and Special milk programs.
- Prepares monthly bills for Business office.
- Prepares bi-weekly time sheets Completes Sales Transaction Summary Reports and menu worksheets daily.
- Completes Al a Carte and Salad spreadsheets daily.
- Reviews and evaluations all requests and recommendations for purchase of new and replacement equipment.
- Plans and supervises the preparation and serving of menus at all schools.
- Provides menus for the preparation and serving of government commodities.
- Inspects school lunch facilities and operations to insure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health and safety are being maintained.
- Prepares information for CDE for Paid Lunch Equity to determine lunch prices each year.
- Also gives suggestions of what breakfast and milk prices should be.
- Runs the Point of Sale for the Elementary building at breakfast and lunch.
- Ensures the size of portions served at breakfast and lunch follow Federal regulations.
- Keeps patrons and public informed of the menus and services offered by Food Services and of the health and educational benefits gained by children through participation in the school food service program.
- Consults, as needed with school planners and architects on plans and specifications for new or renovated food preparation centers.
- Processes all free/reduced applications.
- Daily deposits. Completes the Verification Process Performs Direct Certification.
- Performs monthly inventories.
- Completes all Renewal Forms for CDE. Ensures that student meal accounts are current and if needed sends a letter or makes phone calls. Places food and milk orders each week. Determines who to contact for equipment repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma, Preferred
2. Nutrition Background, Preferred
2. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
3. Colorado Bureau of Investigation background clearance
