The Taconic and Green Regional School District community is seeking an innovative, passionate, experienced school leader to be the next Co-Principal at the Manchester Elementary Middle School (MEMS) in historic Manchester, Vermont. The successful candidate will lead the middle school, unified arts, and special education departments and work collaboratively with the Elementary Co-Principal. Principals will share school management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be a proven instructional leader and demonstrate an understanding of effective middle level educational practices.
They will take a student centered approach to programming ensuring decisions are made through an equity lens. Successful candidates will be current on educational research and best educational practices. They will demonstrate effective communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively with fellow administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community members. Manchester Elementary Middle School serves students in grades Pre-K through 8 and has approximately 380 students.
MEMS is the largest school in the Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union and serves students from the town of Manchester. Students in grades 6-8 from the towns of, Danby, Dorset, Landgrove Londonderry, Mt. Tabor, Peru, Sunderland, and Weston also have the choice to attend MEMS. Manchester Elementary Middle School has two to three teachers per grade level and teachers partner and collaborate closely both as grade level teams and within larger units including teachers from other grade levels within the same developmental band.
MEMS offers a wide range of middle school programming including Algebra, Spanish, ELL, Student Success and elective classes. There is a large maker space that teachers and students access to engage in personalized, hands-on project development. Manchester Elementary Middle School is committed to fostering an educational environment that responds to the learning needs and aspirations of all of its learners. We are seeking candidates who are committed to continuous improvement and have successfully demonstrated strong and effective leadership skills.
