Description

We are seeking a driven and passionate guitar instructor to teach beginner group classes to children. This role will focus on creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment while fostering a love for music and facilitating growth in new students. Under direct supervision, the guitar instructor will plan lessons, organize performances, and collaborate with other staff to enhance community engagement through music. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develop and implement progressive guitar lesson plans with a clear goal in mind.
• Create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment that cultivates growth and creativity.
• Teach guitar techniques that are appropriate for age and skill level and ensure activities are accessible for all students.
• Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and supervisor.
• Collaborate with other team members to build and expand the music programming.  
• Attend team meetings and trainings to continuously improve personal teaching practices.
• Participate in music events such as parties, festivals, and recitals.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in music education.
• Working knowledge of group and individual teaching strategies.
• Professional and motivated attitude with the ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
• Willingness to lead students by example including, but not limited to punctuality, dress, and demonstration of techniques.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

SALARY                  $15.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience

HOURS                   5-10 hours per week including evenings and weekends
