Description
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Jr Referee ensures fair play and safety during athletic contests by enforcing game rules, code of conduct, managing player behavior, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Enforce game rules accurately and consistently.
- Control the flow of the game and manage player conduct.
- Ensure player safety and maintain a safe playing environment.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Stay updated on rule changes and officiating techniques
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of sport’s rules.
- Physical fitness to keep up with the game.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage conflicts and maintain composure.
- Commitment to professionalism and sportsmanship.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Former or current experience participating in a variety of sports.
JOB STATUS Part time DEPARTMENT Recreation FSLA STATUS Non-Exempt
SALARY $35.00 per game
HOURS Various hours depending on program and park districts needs including nights and weekends when needed.
