Position Overview & Job Duties:
Daily duties are to fill orders on a short assembly line for medium voltage disconnects. You will be following a standardized process to assemble the disconnects, everything is fastened using nuts and bolts with torque specifications, plastic bearings installed with arbor press and aligned using simply bespoke tools made in house. On completion of each disconnect, you will then use the micro-ohm machine to test the resistance of each phase while making small adjustments. Repeating this process until each phase is making the proper amount of contact to meet specifications and record the values. Then you will fill out the inspection sheet with the values and take the completed and tested disconnect to the fabrication department to be installed. Ability and willingness to complete other duties as assigned. This role involves cross-training opportunities in other departments to enhance skills and support team needs.
These are safety devices that prevent dangerous arc flashes when used in the field, so it is important to take this work seriously, be meticulous, and not cut corners.

Qualifications:
- HS diploma/GED
- Good manual dexterity to manipulate small components.
- Knowledge of how to use the following tools (arbor press, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, mallets, file, burnisher, utility knife, calipers, gauge blocks and ability to read tape measure.
- Ability to lift 30lb.
- Understanding of computers to use the in-house workbench program.
- Ability to interpret relatively simple blueprints to verify parts are within specification.
- Experience in basic mechanical assembly.
- Good vision to inspect parts for compliance issues (precision oriented)
- Comfortable using low voltage electrical testing equipment (micro-ohmmeter)
