What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Benson Hospital?
Benson Hospital is adding another Housekeeper to our Team. This position will work the night shift on weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY
In accordance with Benson Hospital Policies, State and Federal guidelines, and CDC recommendations, the housekeeper will be responsible for the daily cleaning and care of all patient rooms, public areas, Drs. offices, out buildings, etc. The Housekeeper works with the housekeeping lead and Director of Facilities to maintain a clean and healthy environment for our patients and guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assures that all patients’ rooms under their assignment are cleaned to the hospital standards of infection control and sanitization in a timely manner.
- Assures that all public areas, offices, lab clinics, and outbuildings etc. are cleaned and maintained per Supervisors’ directives.
- Practices necessary safety procedures and precaution as prescribed by Benson Hospital and the CDC.
- Assists supervisor in maintaining required supply levels by reporting needs and concerns.
- Works overtime as required due to business levels or the overall needs of Benson Hospital.
- Assists Supervisor or other Leadership in routine/random inspections of patient’s rooms or other areas.
- Assists in handling and disposing of hospital generated bio-waste following prescribed policies and procedures.
- Looks for and identifies areas in need and take proactive steps to achieve cleanliness and follows up with supervisor.
- Assists with floor care in public and other areas as needed.
- Participates in departmental meetings and completes required continuing education, as necessary.
- Arrives in uniform and ready for work, timely
- Completes all assigned duties in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintains accurate daily records of rooms cleaned with timely updates as directed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer previous experience as a housekeeper in hotels, apartments, schools, or nursing home or other. Must have a valid driver license.
