SUMMARY:
Benson Signs is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our Architectural and Permanent Signage Department. This role involves driving strategic initiatives, optimizing financial performance, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will collaborate with executive leadership, manage departmental performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity. Experience in the multifamily industry is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Department Strategy and Financial Performance:
- Develop and implement strategic plans, timelines, and annual sales budgets in collaboration with RDs, CEO, and Controller.
- Manage departmental budgets, Service Level Expectations (SLEs), quality control, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Drive financial literacy, engagement, and performance insights to achieve sales goals and present growth plans to executive leadership.
- Set and monitor performance metrics and service levels, and lead daily production meetings to clarify resource needs.
Customer Focused:
- Build and maintain relationships with high-level clients, conducting strategic meetings to gauge satisfaction and identify new opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze customer feedback for continuous improvement and resolve client complaints effectively.
- Take initiative in identifying and performing additional tasks that support team and organizational goals.
Business Knowledge:
- Understand department tools, applications, and systems, and develop deep business knowledge for informed decision-making.
- Engage with high-level customer contacts in architectural signage and identify opportunities to support company objectives.
People & Culture:
- Lead and manage team members, implementing training and coaching programs, and making final decisions in department lead meetings.
- Maintain effective communication and alignment, streamline processes using internal operating systems, and uphold high ethical standards.
- Uphold the company vision, values, and culture by fostering integrity, empathy, commitment, and a customer focused approach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent experience.
- Preferred, master’s degree in business management.
Work Experience:
- 5 years in leading direct and indirect reports
- Experience in the signage industry and/or multifamily experience, is a plus.
- Experience in leading and developing a company division.
