We are looking for an Embroidery Operator in our Apparel Department. This is a 2nd shift position with hours of Monday - Friday from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Candidates should also be available for occasional overtime, including nights and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carefully reads job ticket to identify correct embroidery decoration, placement, and garment/textile to be embroidered to assure the maximum level of quality
Prepares machine for garment/textile; loads digitized files into machine network, ensures the correct color(s) of thread is/are on machine for requested design, manually changes needles when appropriate, and adjusts and regulates machine tension when needed
Prepares garments/textiles for the machine: hoops the garment/textile in the correct location using the correct backing for material of the item. Ensures garment/textile is placed on the machine securely
Determines the design orientation and enter it into the machine to reflect the direction of the sew out
Starts the machine and prepares the next set garments/textiles for embroidery (i.e. hooping)
Observes embroidery operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notifies Lead Operator
Repairs defective embroidery or fills in blanks left by the machine
When the machine has finished decoration, inspects the garment/textile, trims loose threads and removes backing
Performs thorough quality inspection on all outgoing orders
Performs routine machine maintenance, including daily oiling and lint control using compressed air system
Identifies workflow and process inefficiencies, recommends solutions to Management, and participates in resolutions
Maintains a clean and organized workspace
Works cooperatively with other team members to meet goals
Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude
Follows all safety protocols
