JOB PURPOSE
Banquet and Event servers will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, ensuring smooth event operations, and delivering exceptional food and beverage service during various functions. As a Banquet and Catering Server, you will play a key role in ensuring that our guests have an enjoyable dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of service.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Set-Up:
- Assist in setting up banquet and catering spaces, ensuring that tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, and glassware are properly arranged and meet event specifications.
Food and Beverage Service:
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that all dietary restrictions and guest preferences are met.
Guest Interaction:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest needs promptly and courteously.
- Respond to requests in a positive, professional manner.
Cleanliness & Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including clearing plates, glasses, and utensils.
- Assist with post-event cleanup and resetting of spaces for future events.
Communication:
- Coordinate with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and fellow servers to ensure smooth service flow during events.
Safety & Hygiene:
- Adhere to health and safety standards, including food handling, alcohol service, and cleanliness regulations.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during events.
Event Breakdown:
- Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of event spaces, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are stored properly after each event.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other servers and staff to ensure seamless event execution, including taking direction from event managers and supervisors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to produce an excellent culinary, catering and restaurant experience for guests.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.
- Strong managerial skills and the ability to take leadership business operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and self-review of work product.
- Proactively resolve problems when able, and otherwise offer potential solutions to issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior.
- Good written and oral communication skills, able to follow-through on open items to resolution.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of banquet and catering experience preferred.
