Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Banquet Operations Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of both onsite and offsite events. The ideal candidate will lead and manage a team of banquet staff, ensuring exceptional service, flawless communication, and seamless execution for all events. The Banquet Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of event preparation, from ordering to staff management, while maintaining attention to detail and a flexible, problem-solving approach.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Planning & Execution:

· Oversee the seamless planning and execution of all onsite and offsite banquet events, ensuring every detail is executed according to client expectations and company standards.

Team Management & Leadership:

· Lead, manage, train, and mentor a team of banquet staff. Ensure staff members are well-prepared, motivated, and adhere to performance standards.

· Handle staff scheduling, task delegation, and performance evaluations.

· Build strong working relationships with building staff, business partners, supervisor, co-workers and management by providing exemplary customer service and communication skills.

· Correspond and interact with others in a professional and timely manner. This includes vendors, Partners and landlords.

Staffing & Development:

· Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, disciplining, and terminating banquet staff as necessary.

· Foster a positive and productive team environment while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

· Handles discipline of employees in accordance with restaurant policy.

· Manage the staff schedule and ensure staffing is reflecting business volume.

· Motivates, trains, and engages the team. Ensures culture is positive and focuses on teamwork.

Event Preparation & Coordination:

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure the ordering and preparation of food, beverages, and event materials are completed on time.

· Review event specifications and make recommendations as needed to ensure smooth operations.

· Oversees stocking, ordering, and purchasing of ingredients, ensuring that necessary ingredients are available and as fresh as possible while also minimizing spoilage and waste.

Communication & Coordination:

· Maintain excellent communication with clients, event coordinators, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure the smooth flow of the event. Respond to any last-minute requests or changes with flexibility and problem-solving.

Quality Control:

· Ensure high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness are maintained during each event.

· Inspect event setups and resolve any issues or discrepancies promptly.

Budget & Resource Management:

· Manage event budgets, including supplies, staffing levels, and equipment, ensuring cost control and efficient use of resources.

Health & Safety Compliance:

· Ensure that all banquet operations comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times, both onsite and at offsite events.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to produce an excellent culinary, catering and restaurant experience for guests.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.

· Strong managerial skills and the ability to take leadership business operations.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

· Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader.

· Strong time-management and organizational skills.

· Attention to detail and self-review of work product.

· Proactively resolve problems when able, and otherwise offer potential solutions to issues.

· Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior.

· Good written and oral communication skills, able to follow-through on open items to resolution.

· Ability to adapt quickly to change and offer ideas for continuous improvement.

· Analytical thinker and ability to exercise good judgment.

· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

· Positive and professional attitude.

· Work with upholding high ethics and integrity.

· Must be available days, nights and weekends. This position is not remote.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· At least two years of banquet and catering experience required.

· Comfortable to present and speak in front of groups and leadership.

· Serve Safe certified and has bartender license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to work in loud and energetic work places.

· Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
