What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Worker / Barista position at Benson Stone Company?
We are looking for a friendly, lively cafe worker/barista to join our staff at the HearthRock Cafe, which is located inside the Benson Stone Company building. This is a pleasant work environment in a beautiful historic building, and the food and beverages we serve are handmade fresh every day.
This is a part-time position, requiring between 15 and 25 hours per week. The hours will generally cover the lunch shift, but they may vary between 7:00am and 3:30pm, Monday through Saturday. Some Saturdays are required. The cafe is closed in the evenings, on Sundays, and on most major holidays.
Responsibilities Include
- Greet customers, provide attentive service, and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Operate the Square POS system to process orders and handle transactions
- Prepare and serve a variety of cafe beverages, sandwiches, salads, and baked goods
- Manage time effectively to provide excellent customer service and maintain a smooth workflow
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety and handling standards
Qualifications and Skills
- Food service and barista experience preferred
- Friendly, upbeat personality
- Customer service experience
- Must be reliable with a good attendance record
- Team work ethic and willingness to lend a hand as needed
- Basic math skills for handling cash and operating a cash register
Base pay is $15/hour, but service staff can make up to $20/hr after tips on busy days.
