Bent Tree is a vibrant private gated community located in the North Georgia mountains of Pickens County. The full-service community offers a golf course; Lake Tamarack featuring kayaking, fishing, and beach; a tennis/pickleball center, outdoor aquatics and The Tavern restaurant.

Bent Tree golf course is a challenging Joe Lee designed 18-hole championship course which operates 7 days a week. A golf clubhouse, driving range, putting green, chipping green and golf pavilion are auxiliary facilities that accompany the course. The Tavern restaurant supports all Food & Beverage operations pertaining to golf.

We are seeking a consummate Head Golf Professional who is knowledgeable in the “best practices” of operating a private golf club. An innovative and interactive leader with an astute business acumen to produce a top-notch golf experience for the Bent Tree Community, its members and guests. The Head Golf Professional serves as the “Ambassador of Golf” for our community and must be visible, approachable, professional, and member engaging. The position reports directly to the Director of Marketing & Community Services and is a key member of the Bent Tree Leadership Team. The position supervises a team consisting of an Assistant Golf Professional, (4) Part-Time Clubhouse/Cart professionals, and (3) seasonal operations support staff.

Key duties of the position include the following:

· Daily consultation with the Golf Course Superintendent (course conditions, playability of course, maintenance issues, pin placements)

· Guest Services of Pro Shop (tee sheet, check-in, member accounts, customer service, financial reconciliation of Jonas system)

· Business Acumen (business plans, marketing, budgeting, initiatives, reports, statistics, presentations to Board of Directors)

· Outside Operations (driving range, golf carts, marshalling, enforcement of rules and regulations)

· Staff Supervision (hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, disciplining, evaluating)

· Communications (networking, golf calendar, magazine articles, internal news blips)

· Member Engagement (liaison to Golf & Greens Committee, Men’s Golf Association, Ladies Golf Association, playing golf with members and guests)

· Merchandising (operation of pro shop, ordering, stocking, inventory, equipment repair, organizing demo days, accounts with vendors)

· Teaching (private lessons, groups lessons, clinics, club fitting, coordinating junior golf program)

· Tournaments (recruiting, promoting, hosting and contracting outside events; coordinating event operations; final business transactions of events)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Business, Sport Management, Golf Course Management or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience serving as a Head Golf Professional or Assistant Golf Professional at a private or public course is required.

Certification: Class A PGA/LPGA credentials is highly desirable.

This salaried position has a starting base salary of $60,000 plus teaching commissions and includes a benefits package featuring medical/dental/vision, 401k retirement plan, 13 paid holidays, and vacation/sick leave.
