Swine Nursery Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal husbandry and veterinary practices, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals while maintaining a clean and efficient environment. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for animal care.

Duties

• Manage daily nursery operations, including the care and feeding of animals.
• Implement and maintain sanitation protocols to ensure a clean environment.
• Oversee animal handling and husbandry practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge for the maintenance of equipment used in the nursery.
• Maintain accurate records related to animal health, and nursery operations.
• Collaborate with veterinary professionals to address any health concerns.
• Manage the Filling, sorting and shipping of pigs.
• Routine vaccinations and spot treating of pigs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in veterinary practices or animal husbandry is preferred.
• Strong skills in animal handling, including restraint techniques.
• Familiarity with blood sampling procedures is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge related to farm equipment maintenance is desirable.
• Basic math skills for record keeping and data management.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Passion for animal welfare and commitment to high standards of care.
