Job Responsibilities
- Tool Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and manage the repair and maintenance of all tooling incl. the workshop equipment to minimize mill downtimes for tooling issues.
- Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with tooling vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality tools and keeping working capital low.
- Cost Management: Implement cost-saving measures and strategies to reduce tooling expenses without compromising quality.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of technicians in a workshop environment, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all tooling operations comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety training and audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and tooling improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of tooling inventory, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare regular reports on tooling performance and costs.
- Education: Technical Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP R/3.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of material science of steel, bearing assembly and machining operations.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
