Job Summary: Manage geophysical survey and geotechnical evaluation projects. This key role is responsible for supporting the Sr. Project Manager in all aspects of project activities, including project finances, scheduling, equipment logistics, mobilization, and demobilization events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management across multiple disciplines and be adept in cost control, project budgeting, supply chain management, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight and Coordination:
- Oversee and manage a portfolio of geotechnical and geophysical projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Work closely with project engineers, schedulers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination across various aspects of the project lifecycle.
- Serve as the central point of contact for clients, internal teams, and subcontractors regarding project progress and deliverables.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, track financial performance, and implement cost control strategies to ensure that projects remain within budget.
- Oversee cost estimation, invoicing, and financial reporting processes, ensuring all project finances are accurate and timely.
- Manage project cash flow and financial forecasting.
Logistics and Resource Coordination:
- Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure projects are executed efficiently and on schedule.
- Manage the procurement and logistics of necessary resources, including specialized equipment, tools, and services, while optimizing costs and timelines.
Project Scheduling and Planning:
- Work closely with the project engineer and scheduling team to develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Identify potential scheduling issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks, including those related to logistics, costs, and resource allocation.
- Develop contingency plans for managing project risks and ensuring timely delivery.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, financial health, and any potential concerns.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor project engineers, schedulers, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.
- Promote best practices in project management, cost control, and resource planning across all projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Geosciences, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in project management, ideally in geotechnical, geophysical, or related scientific industries.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in cost control, budgeting, and financial management.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects, including logistics, equipment, and personnel coordination.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar).
- Experience with project supply chain management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
- Experience in the geotechnical or geophysical survey industries.
- Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety standards within project management.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
