Truck Body Technician– Job Summary
Position requires Technician with strong knowledge in auto-body and various mechanical / electrical trouble shooting skills.
Diesel Technician – Primary Responsibilities
- Make repairs to cargo boxes, trailers, frames, wheel bases.
- Various body work repairs and painting.
- Facilitate warranty process when applicable.
- Make recommendations to improve processes to lead to improved safety, customer service, and profits.
- Stay abreast of best practices and trends in the industry.
- May be required to assist in training less experienced technicians.
- Keep shop clean and safe by assuring tools and equipment are put back in proper storage areas. Assure trash is removed in timely manner.
- Be responsible for keeping track of time records relating to repairs, shop time, and payroll hours for oneself.
- Wear proper PPE, and inform management if any repairs or replacement is needed of such equipment.
Requirements
Diesel Technician – Position Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in body work.
- A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma is preferred
- Strong measuring and math skills.
- Ability to use PC for documenting repairs and time management.
- Ability to use ladders and also crawl, kneel, strech when working on vehicles.
- Must have a valid driver’s license: CDL Preferred
- Must be able to lift 70lbs.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screening required by DOT.
