What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reliable Student Transport Specialist position at Benton Community School District?
As a Substitute Bus Driver for the Benton Community School District, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of our students across 18 regular bus routes in our rural school district.
Job Duties:
- Transport students according to district policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
- Ensure students board and exit the bus in an orderly fashion.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to guarantee the bus is in good working condition.
- Participate in relevant training sessions.
- Report accidents to the Transportation Director or designee.
- Manage fuel consumption and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus.
- Develop positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
Eligibility:
- Hold an active Iowa School Bus Driver License (CDL).
- Have a clean driving record.
- Pass random drug and alcohol testing.
- Be familiar with emergency equipment on a school bus.
- Previous experience as a school bus driver, preferably with three to five years of service, is desirable.
