JOB SUMMARY 

The Benton County Health Department is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional - Outpatient Adult Specialist to join the team. We proudly serve all Benton County residents regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, or sexual orientation, and regardless of ability to pay for services. In this role you will provide an array of services to a caseload of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring addiction disorders. Services are provided in office and in the community; and range from individual therapy, group therapy and case management. This role may provide specialty services, such as residential case management and intensive services. Mental health services are co-located with Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Primary Care and Dental. In this position, you will be work independently and as part of an integrated team; and may provide specialized services depending on area of assignment. Clinical supervision may be offered to those seeking licensure.

  • Annual salary range of:
    • QMHP - Health Care Professional 2 Salary Range: $67,359 - $94,183
    • QMHP - Health Care Professional 3 Salary Range: $71,383 - $99,793
    • This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year. Increases are given at the end of the 6 month probationary period and at the 1 year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
    • For most employees who take advantage of health benefits the salary only makes up 60% of their total compensation. The County invests in you and your family!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:  

QMHP - Health Care Professional 2 level (HCP42):
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field; AND
  • One year of experience providing mental health outpatient services ; AND
  • Must be registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. 
QMHP - Health Care Professional 3 level (HCP43):
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field; AND
  • Two years of experience providing mental health outpatient services; AND
  • PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT or equivalent licensure.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

Special Requirements
  • Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license. This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.
Ideal Candidate
  • PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT or equivalent licensure
  • CADC obtained 
  • Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred, but not required
