JOB SUMMARY
The Mental Health Crisis Manager is responsible for the development, management, coordination, oversight, and evaluation of safety net and specialty mental health services. The position also oversees the Benton County crisis team as well as the Jail and Forensics team. The crisis team is responsible for providing crisis risk assessments and commitment responsibilities within Benton County. The Jail and Forensics team is responsible for providing support to the jail and judicial system, to include evaluation of individuals for community restoration services and Psychiatric Security Review Board. As manager, you will be responsible for oversight of the programming of both teams, including providing supervision and direction for services provided, and additionally responsible for coordinating with the Oregon Health Authority, jail, and courts among others.

Benton County Crisis Center

Expected to open Spring 2025, the newly built Crisis Center will offer 24-hour services consisting of crisis assessment, short-term therapy, skills training, case management, as well as stabilization and respite. The center will serve as a resource for community partners and offer opportunity for early intervention for those experiencing new mental health crisis needs. We are proud to offer a low-barrier, open door resource with walk-in crisis counseling services available for youth. The center will also serve as the dispatch center for the Mobile Crisis Team as they respond to calls from community service providers, including law enforcement and hospital staff. Annual salary range of:
  • $86,413.60 - $117,836.58
  • This position is eligible for up to two salary raises within your first year. An Increase may be given at the end of the 6-month probationary period, depending on starting salary, and at the 1-year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Annual performance-based increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (PM51)
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology.
  • 5 Years of professional level mental health experience in a mental health facility, hospital or other clinical setting,
    • 2 years of experience supervising staff in a mental health facility, hospital or other clinical setting. (Supervisory experience includes the authority to hire, terminate, assign, reward, discipline, etc)
  • PsyD, LPC, LMFT, or LCSW required.

Special Requirements
  • Successfully pass a criminal records check.
  • Valid Oregon Driver's license.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working both as a direct service provider and as a manager or supervisor in a Community Mental Health setting. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supervision of staff at multiple professional levels.
  • Knowledge and experience in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules and Oregon Revised Statutes.
  • Knowledge and training on evidence-based practices as applicable to the target population.
  • Knowledge and experience with crisis interventions and pre-commitment investigations.
  • Knowledge and experience working with jail and forensic populations.
