Job Summary (Monday-Friday 6am-2pm)
The Kitchen Assistant will assist in the preparation of meals, the setting up and serving of congregate meals and the packaging of meals for delivery to homebound seniors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all duties necessary to prepare meals following menu plans and preparation instructions
Will assume Kitchen Manager responsibilities in their absence
Follows all safety guidelines concerning the proper operation of equipment
Assists in the set up of serving line and serves meals according to portion guidelines
Packages meals in proper containers to maintain necessary temperature controls while keeping the presentation of the meal appealing
Performs work necessary to properly clean and sanitize kitchen, equipment, utensils, dishes, dining area
Assists Kitchen Manager in maintaining up to date food and supply inventory ensuring that security for food and supplies in continually monitored and maintained
Aids in ensuring all safety, fire, health, and HIPAA regulations are followed
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Possess the ability to multi-task in fast paced, high production work environment
Must embrace the mission of the Our Healthy Communities
Physical Demands
Must have the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position as defined by Act 593 of 2017. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, in confined spaces or performing life-threatening procedures.
