What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at Benton County Senior Center?
Job Summary-
(8am-4pm for Training... then 9am-3pm. -- 30 Hours per Week)
The Office Assistant will need to interact effectively with members of the senior center. This position requires a general knowledge of many aspects of senior center operations and is crucial in the overall success of the local senior center.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain client confidentiality at all times
Responsible for all data entry into the SAMS data collection program. This includes client intakes and assessments, and recording of units of service
Maintain a current roster in SAMS, adding end dates for inactive clients
Maintain current HDM route sheets. Keeping notes to a minimum and verifying notes do not contain sensitive information.
Responsible for the monthly update of client records and fund identifiers
Conduct HDM interviews ensuring that potential clients meet the qualifications for HDM services
Transport clients as needed for scheduled route pickup/drop-off, day trips, grocery store or pharmacy
Maintain adequate supply of forms in DOT vehicle notebooks
Must be highly organized, having the ability to work multiple projects with frequent interruptions
Must have excellent time management skills
Must have above average computer and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
Must be able to obtain DOT certification
Must have valid drivers license
Must have excellent customer service/communication skills
Must meet any additional qualifications set by the agency
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Repetitive keyboard use
Be able to get in/out of and assist senior clientele in/out of a twelve passenger van
Be able to lift a wheelchair or walker in/out of twelve passenger van
May sit or stand for long periods of time
Non-Physical Demands
Attend local and out of area trainings as necessary
Safety Sensitive Position--This position is designated as a safety sensitive position as defined by Act 593 of 2017. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by Our Healthy Communities as a safety sensitive position in which as part of the job duties the employee: (a) operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, (b) working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces or (c) performing life-threatening procedures. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, in confined spaces or performing life-threatening procedures.
