Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Road Department Superintendent, the Road Department Supervisor will maintain data within the Pub Works and iWorQ systems as well as the Benton County Call Log. Incumbent will regularly communicate with the public regarding their concerns and will work with Road Department Forman and employees to ensure work is scheduled and completed. Responsible for ensuring all required paperwork is accurately completed and submitted according to policies and procedures. Incumbent will fill in as Assistant Road Department Superintendent on an as needed basis.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Computer work, Pub Works information, I Worq and Call logs.
Communication via phone and computer to the public and employees.
Meeting with the public to look at issues and reporting back to Assistant Superintendent.
Directing the employees when Assistant Superintendent is out.
Checking on employees and road needs daily.
Making sure facilities are stocked and ready each day.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Supervises a moderate size group (8-15) of employees engaged in important, complex operations, consisting of employees in different classifications who perform a wide variety of duties
Qualifications
High school or GED
Specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc. plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CDL License

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
