The Position
GENERAL SUMMARY : Provide customer service and support under the direction of the Contracts & Billing Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Billing Office :
- Receive and receipt large batch payments for Medicare, Medicaid and third-party insurances. Calculate adjustments and make appropriate distribution of payments.
- Post and reconcile all types of individual and 3rd party payer payments received in the mail daily. Including electronic credit cards and VitalChek payment processing. Calculate adjustments as needed.
- Prepare daily bank deposits.
- Data entry of charges, including price over-rides when applicable according to Heath District policy.
- Electronic billing of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party insurance claims.
- Work denied claims, research coding issues and questions and resubmit claims when appropriate.
- Work credit balance reports, Aging of Accounts Reports and collection reports to determine necessary actions to resolve outstanding balances. Create letters, memos, and various correspondences as needed using a word processor.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A high school diploma or GED. Prefer a two-years in accounting or business. Three years previous medical billing experience preferred.
Additional Requirements : Performance of job duties requires driving on a regular basis, a valid Washington State driver's license, the use of the incumbent's personal motor vehicle when a District fleet vehicle is not available for use, and proof of appropriate auto insurance.
