JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: FAPE Teacher/Teacher Consultant
LOCATION: District-Wide
SUPERVISOR: Special Education Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Special Education Supervisors, provide special education supports to students.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Michigan Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.

Minimum of 1-3 years experience in Special Education field preferred.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide special education supports to students who are suspended or expelled

Provide teacher consultant services to students in alternative education
-
Provide compensatory education when necessary
-
Coordinate with parents and students to schedule times and types of services needed

Understand, implement and develop IEPs
-
Flexible availability for during the school day and after school hours

Comply with special education expectations
-
Perform other job-related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Experience with implementing and writing IEPs.
-
Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information.

Ability to receive and execute instructions, assignments or directions from superiors.
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, position statement, meeting summaries, etc., using prescribed formats. Requires the ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control, and confidence. Thorough knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, punctuation and formats required.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and all other statistical measurement tools.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to utilize courtesy and tact when communicating with others to deliver clear and concise messages.

Terms of Employment:
This is a year round position. Hours may vary- on call basis.
Hourly rate: $30/hour
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Special Education Supervisors.
