• Complete work as directed by field supervisor.
• Performs manual labor type tasks as directed by the Lineman, Foreman, or Supervisor such as cleaning truck, digging ditches, tamping, cutting brush and moving materials.
• Assists Lineman in loading, unloading, layout and preparing tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site.
• Assists with Traffic Control and Safe Operations
• Acquire necessary materials and inventory from warehouse.
• Install, upgrade, or eliminate aerial cables.
• Perform duties according to industry standards.
• Effectively be able to read area maps.
• Effectively and accurately record daily production on job site maps.
• Work safely and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Preventative inspections of equipment, including truck and trailer.
• Maintain clean and safe work site.
• Handles physically demanding construction duties.
• Drives a company-provided vehicle from the yard to the job site and back.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Experience in all aspects of overhead aerial fiber construction, fiber/cable installation, and pole transfers or related work environments.
• Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, vertical grounds, and building and repairing aerial telecommunication lines.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work
• Able to work and climb aloft at heights up to 35’.
• Ability and willing to work in an outdoor environment during all times of the year and in inclement weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and operate necessary materials, tools, and equipment
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders.
• Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear.
• Able to safely operate aerial equipment, including bucket truck digger derrick and trailer.
• Knowledge in placing new and replacing broken telephone poles and ground pedestals.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license, Class A preferred.
• CDL License, or ability to obtain one in timely manner a plus
• Ability to take direction and instruction from supervisors.
• Good team attitude and ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Effectively communicate with management and team members
• Ability to communicate clearly using radios, verbal, and hand signals.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds.
• Identifies unsafe conditions and takes appropriate action.
