Job Summary:
The FTTH Fiber Installer will install and maintain cabling systems for our customers. This role will be required to assess the needs of the customer, lay the required cables, and assist with the installation of cabled equipment. This role may also be required to troubleshoot networking or equipment issues.
To ensure success, the Fiber Installer should have expert knowledge of telecommunication systems, advanced troubleshooting skills, and high-level interpersonal skills. A top-notch Fiber Installer works quickly and efficiently while maintaining strong customer relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-class customer service including detailed customer education on all products
- Install cables in homes and offices. Installations could include relocating cable outlets, modems, and interior and exterior wiring paths
- Perform new connections, reconnects, upgrades, and disconnects for residential internet
- Identifying and removing old or redundant cables.
- Assisting with the setting up of equipment
- Test signal strength and connection using test equipment
- Troubleshot internet services
- Completing job reports.
- Completing weekly billing
- complete a Job Hazard analysis and vehicle inspection each day
- Maintain company vehicles, reporting any damage or needed repairs
Required Skills & Qualifications: All positions require participation in the federally compliant FMSCA drug and alcohol testing program. This includes both pre-employment and ongoing random testing.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Fiber optic experience preferred.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Flexible to work 5-7days per week, including holidays
- Ability to work in cramped spaces.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Solid customer service skills.
- Must be capable of physical activity, including maneuvering around the building including comms closets, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting of 50lbs
- Ability to travel and work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed.
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
