Assistant Manager/Team Member

BACKGROUND

Gelato/Coffee/pastry shop in downtown Montclair

OVERVIEW

Required:

• Experience (at least 2 years) in restaurant, coffee shop, pastry shop in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to commute reliably to downtown Montclair
• Work references
• Energetic/friendly attitude
• Evening and night availability (we close at 10 or 11)
• Ability to work 15hours a week or more
• Ability to take initiative and handle customer volume quickly
• Interest/experience with specialty food
• Willingness to work with teams/track record of problem solving
• Experience with/willingness to learn inventory tracking
• Fast on feet/strong sense of initiative
• Experience with handling food and assembling food

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage day-to-day operations of shop, including open or close
• Food/pastry preparation, and proper use of all machinery/ equipment.
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Ensure all premises are clean and tidy
• Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost brand reputation
• Ensure compliance with NJ and Montclair DOH requirements
