Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to lead and optimize our purchasing and vendor management activities in alignment with our strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in procurement for operations and large scale construction activities and supply chain management, with a deep understanding of technologies relevant to construction along with data center and electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives to support the development, construction and operations for electrical infrastructure and data centers targeted to support colocation.
- Manage all purchasing activities and establish strategic purchasing processes and procedures.
- Manage supply chain which includes delivery tracking of purchases and restocking to support inventory management for operations.
Supplier Management and Negotiation:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers, regularly evaluating their performance to ensure quality and reliability.
- Market Analysis and Budget Optimization:
- Monitor market trends and conduct cost analyses to ensure competitive pricing and optimize the procurement budget.
- Evaluate and analyze purchasing and price trends to forecast demand and minimize purchasing costs.
- Negotiate commercial positions to mitigate company risk and exposure.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with engineering, development, capital projects, operations, and finance teams to forecast needs and manage inventory levels.
- Lead the procurement team in managing the bid process from aligning needs, developing bid package, Intent to Bid, RFP, RFI, shortlisting, BAFO, award, and vendor management through the warranty period then operations.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies throughout the procurement process.
- Prepare and maintain reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market conditions.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic thinking.
- Manage subordinate staff in their day-to-day performance, ensuring project milestones and department goals are met within approved budgets.
Performance Metrics:
- Establish annual KPIs based on actual versus budget spend, with a focus on mitigating cost creep due to commercial risks (e.g., FM, demurrage, port detention, tariff risk, code/law impacts) and ensuring timely deliveries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in electrical power delivery, power generation, data centers, or large scale industrial construction.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools, including eprocurement solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Understanding of the data center markets is a significant advantage.
- Preferred: CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management) from a globally recognized Institute for Supply Chain Management.
- Accounting, technical, or sales experience is beneficial but not required.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
