Job Summary:
The Systems Analyst 2 performs moderately complex computer systems analysis to evaluate, optimize, and support IT solutions in a government environment. This role analyzes user needs, documents system requirements, and develops functional specifications for business applications. The analyst tests and troubleshoots systems to ensure they meet critical performance and security requirements.
This is a hybrid role with 4 remote days and 1 on-site day (Thursdays) in Austin, TX. Candidates must already reside in the Austin area.
Responsibilities/Environment:
- Analyze user needs, define system scope, and document requirements.
- Develop and test applications using object-oriented programming, client-server architecture, and web technologies. Troubleshoot system issues and recommend improvements.
- Assist in integrating new and existing technologies.
- Provide technical support and user training.
- Maintain system documentation and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience analyzing new or existing procedures, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness. Testing and diagnosing systems to ensure that critical requirements are met. Performing related work as assigned.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, SQL) and system troubleshooting.
Preferred:
- Experience in government IT or enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, IT security, and cloud technologies.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
