What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Retail Sales - Mi Rancho position at Berber Food Manufacturing, LLC?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads, manages, and owns the Retail Sales strategy and activity for Mi Rancho.
- Works directly with the necessary leaders to develop the strategy in the Retail Sales Division to grow the business profitability based on the overall company growth strategy.
- Revenue and expense management responsibilities for the Retail Sales Department.
- Execute sales forecasts and adjust to changing opportunities.
- Ensure proper selling strategies and tactics are developed to support the plan in order to meet the goals.
- Responsible for maintaining relationships between Mi Rancho and key strategic customers and distributors.
- Works closely with R&D, Marketing, and Operations with open channels of communication and collaboration to ensure key initiatives and projects are successfully completed in an efficient and on-time manner.
- Coordinates promotional, ad and marketing strategies with the Marketing Dept. that maximize brand awareness and product movement goals.
- Works in conjunction with marketing supervisor and outside marketing team to maximize sales through website optimization, packaging re-development and industry call-out/ out-reach programs and research.
- Works conjointly with the R&D department to bring new ideas, new products and line extensions to the forefront through market research and trend analysis.
- Conduct market tours in different channel segments to identify trend opportunities and log results into a R&D product utilization chart.
- Conduct product evaluations with key industry allies, buyers and focus groups to further rate product potential and success probability.
- Helps to drive product launch schedule and coordinate introductory strategies with marketing department.
- Leads the research, development, and commercialization of new products for key customers.
- Aligns selling initiatives with key elements of the retail business.
- Develop new customers, channels, distribution, and broker relationships.
- Manage contracts, pricing, and bidding negations.
- Initiating and evaluating the improvement of sales forecast and its accuracy
- Help the team develop strategies and presentations for key accounts to grow profitable sales.
- Responsible for improving distributor execution to improve communications to maximize service and results.
- Develops talent within the organization and builds a solid sales team.
- Selling in new distribution (both new items and existing items).
- Ensuring Mi Rancho shelf presence meets brand strategies/objectives (targeted section, targeted shelf position within section, targeted number of facings and targeted shelf price).
- Ensuring Mi Rancho in-store promotional merchandising meets brand strategies and objectives (targeted price point, targeted frequency, targeted off-shelf display support).
- Responsible for improving distributor execution through improved communications to maximize service and results.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related course of study.
- 10 years of experience in Retail Sales and Distribution.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient use of a computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and possess the ability to develop interdepartmental relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven strategic selling skills and, preferably, having successfully completed strategic selling.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers ranging from entry level to executive level positions.
- Ability to work with multiple departments including but not limited to Marketing, R&D and Operations to identify key products and strategies. both internally and externally.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize projects and clearly communicate direction internally and externally.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple direct reports including but not limited to: Territory Sales Representative(s) and National Account Manager(s).
- Work requires supervising and monitoring work performance of direct reports including making final decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigning work and staffing assignments, as needed.
- Develop functional responsibilities of individuals that report to this position and ensure that best in-class output is created.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Typical work in office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up and carry 15 pounds at times.
- Travel on an as-needed basis, which may vary depending on business requirements (40%).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is
$115,147.00 - $220,573.00.
