Freight Dispatcher Job Summary
The Freight Dispatcher will oversee the daily coordination of all building material shipments. The Freight Dispatcher will ensure a product arrives in a timely and efficient manner, while also providing outstanding customer service. The position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
Freight Dispatcher Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages load building team and drivers and time off requests.
- Coordinate the pickup, delivery, and tracking of freight orders.
- Track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain communication with customers, carriers, and other transportation personnel.
- Monitor and update order status in the transportation management system.
- Resolve any customer issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate any delays or other potential issues to the customer.
- Monitor driver’s hours of service and coordinate necessary breaks or rest periods.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manages load building team and drivers and time off requests.
- Able to multitask and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Additional items as required to complete the job.

Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2 years of freight dispatching experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of transportation planning, including route planning, load optimization, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with drivers, customers, and team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to quickly assess situations and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and tools, with the ability to learn new systems as needed.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices, including DOT regulations and safety protocols.
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
