Join our team as a Housekeeper at Berea College!
Responsibilities of this position include daily cleaning and trash removal of all areas in assigned buildings; minor maintenance such as changing light bulbs, and supervision of student crews.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains assigned equipment in clean and operable condition.
- Performs inspection of facilities in regard to cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance and
- general condition. Reports needed repairs to Facilities Management.
- Performs minor maintenance such as changing reachable light bulbs or minor repairs to building furnishings.
- Performs regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance of entrances, windows, stairways, elevator, public restrooms, and public areas.
- Performs regularly scheduled cleaning of classrooms and meeting rooms.
- Removes trash from building.
- Strips and refinishes all tile floors, extracts all carpets.
- Supervises, trains, and schedules student staff during the school year and summer.

Education required to ensure success in this position:

- Up to one year related experience
- Ability to handle tools and equipment common to the housekeeping trade.
- Ability to respond to afterhours calls.
- Flexibility in scheduling of hours. Ability to comprehend and follow OSHA rules for
- handling of chemicals and blood-borne pathogens.
- Positive attitude. Must be able to initiate and maintain good customer and co-worker
- relationships in a team environment.
