The Berea College Art and Art History Department invites applications for a full time, one-year sabbatical replacement to teach all levels of undergraduate drawing and painting and to run the drawing and painting studios, to begin August 1, 2025. Teaching responsibility is six courses per year. Courses include a 100-level drawing and painting course, all intermediate and advanced drawing and painting courses, including the capstone that prepares student for their senior exhibition, and an opportunity to teach a special topics course based on the candidate's area of interest. Preference for experience and interest in teaching with the human figure. MFA is required; exhibition record and college teaching experience is preferred.

Please submit a letter of application (cover letter) that specifically addresses Berea College and this position, a curriculum vitae, 10 digital images of your studio art, 10 images of your past students' art, a studio teaching philosophy statement, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and identification of three references.
