Summary:
The Tax Manager is responsible for analyzing financial records, gathering tax-related information, and assisting in the preparation of tax returns.
Additionally, they perform all accounting and tax-related responsibilities for Bellwether Champions, LLC which is a holding company for employee's ownership in Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital, LLC.
Major Responsibilities:
• Accurately prepare all tax schedules and supporting schedules to outside tax preparers, review all tax returns, 1099 preparation, state allocations, and maintain composite tax return elections while working to bring as much work in-house as possible.
• Maintain ownership basis, calculate and make distributions.
• Perform accounting, tax and financial responsibilities on a consistent basis for Bellwether Champions, LLC.
• Prepare quarterly taxable income estimates and identify discrepancies between estimates and actual. Act as the primary liaison with the external capital partners.
• Update, maintain, and improve investor portal in Salesforce. Primary point of contact for investor questions including assistance with IRS notices.
• Maintain ownership by member, manage the annual open-window period of buyers and sellers of ownership interests, and prepare Board-related reports quarterly.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
(experience, education)
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Tax Accountant or in a similar role.
• Experience with Partnership Tax.
• Experience with Workday is preferred.
• Experience with GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• CPA Certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of tax laws.
