What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director - 3 Act Play, One Act Play, Musical position at Beresford School District?
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Theatre and/or Music Education or appropriate
coursework.
Certification: Current/valid South Dakota Teaching Certificate.
Experience: High school, college, community, and/or professional theatre.
Physical Requirements: This position requires constant hand-eye and mind-eye
coordination and hearing; intermittent repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and
fingers, sitting, walking, and keyboarding. The position requires frequent lifting, bending,
stopping, pulling.
Essential Functions & Duties:
- Performs all tasks; artistic, technical; etc., and oversees the entire production.
- Oversees and coordinates all sets, properties, costumes, make-up, etc.
- Builds and maintains a successful musical/drama program.
- Teaches performing techniques, including but not limited to: acting, imporisation, style and stage musicianship.
- Holds and directs rehearsals.
- Keeps accurate attendance records and assessment results.
- Coordinates efforts of parents to assist with publicity, program ad sales, costumes, etc.
