Responsible for guiding and supporting students with some college credit, that have discontinued their studies, and are now seeking to return to complete an academic credential. Provide essential support and resources to ensure student success. This role requires a deep understanding of academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements, along with the ability to foster a positive and engaging relationship with students and peers. The RSC will assist students in developing educational plans that align with their career goals and aspirations. Additionally, the candidate will provide counseling on course selection, academic performance, and strategies for overcoming academic challenges. This position also focuses on promoting academic integrity and facilitating a culture of excellence within Bergen. The successful candidate will engage in all aspects of Bergen’s vast support network and in the utilization of academic resources.

Experience:Proven leadership experience including project management. Highly desirable in having experience in academic advising or educational counseling within a higher education setting. Be able to provide presentations to groups using relevant enrollment data.

Position Summary
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with Readmit, Stop-Out, and New Transfer students through the office of Admissions.
- Provide one-on-one academic advising to students, helping them to review prior credits, prior learning to help determine what may be needed to complete a credential.
- Be able to utilize WebEx, ZOOM and other platform services to engage with students remotely.
- Communicate opportunities to complete degree remotely (COL)
- Ensure all advising support is geared to having students achieve their educational goals.
- Assist students with course selection and registration processes, ensuring they understand academic requirements and deadlines.
- Where appropriate, develop and deliver workshops and informational sessions on academic policies, procedures, and resources.
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide support for improving academic performance, including strategies for success. Being mindful of Academic Standing (AS) and Student Academic Progress (SAP).
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to retain students and to ensure early registration advantages are effectively deployed.
- Maintain accurate records of advising sessions, student interactions, registration, and graduation support as the SCND reporting requires.
- Act as a resource for students addressing personal and academic challenges, including referrals to appropriate support services.
- Oversee budgetary and resource allocations as defined within the SCND Grant. Report expenditures using MS-EXCEL and other software.

- Annual Salary is $45,000
- NJ Educators Health Plan with free Vision and Dental. NJ State Pension plan.
- 15 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, all designated holidays and 5 non-designated holidays a year. 3 Partial Sick Days.
