Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Location: Production Office – Trussville, AL

Department: Production

Reports To (COO):

Purpose of Job:

Perform all levels of Preventive Maintenance, mechanical trouble shooting, tooling changes and machine adjustment associated with stamping presses, roll forming and auxiliary equipment. Perform corrective/preventive maintenance activities and basic maintenance tasks in areas including but not limited to metal fabricating and electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repair in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:

1. Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs such as find blown fuses or tripped breakers, single and three phase motor replacement and control circuit component replacement.

2. Review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.

3. Install or modify circuitry as necessary.

4. Demonstrate a working knowledge of pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and conveyer systems including maintenance, repair, and component replacement.

5. Demonstrate a working knowledge of manual and automated lubrication systems and lubrication requirements for different types of equipment and bearings.

6. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

7. Demonstrate an ability to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

8. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

9. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

10. Work as a member of a team in a professional manner.

11. Follow prescribed safety and operational procedures and recommend changes as necessary.

Work Environment:

The job is primarily performed indoors in the organization’s production facility.

Education:

Must have at least a high school diploma or GED certificate. Ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree or the equivalent experience in industrial maintenance.

Licenses/Certificates:

· Industrial maintenance certification(s) would be a plus.

· Forklift certification.

Experience:

· 5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance

· Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code

Skills:

· Must have a good understanding of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, and computer programming.

· Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels, educational background, etc., are essential.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to work standing for the duration of a ten-hour shift and must have mobility to move between work assignments. Ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50 lb. is required. Position requires intermittent twisting, reaching, squatting, crouching, balancing, and climbing. Adherence to Company Safety Policies and Procedures is expected and required.

Other Requirements:

Occasional travel to other manufacturing facilities may be required.
