Campus Custoian

Position Overview:
Bergin College of Canine Studies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented custodian to join our Facilities team. This position is responsible for the upkeep of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the campus, including academic buildings, student housing, common areas, and some exterior grounds. The Janitor will ensure that all areas are properly maintained to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and offices.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust furniture and fixtures.
• Empty trash bins and ensure recycling is appropriately sorted.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas (soap, paper towels, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness in dining and kitchen areas, including wiping down tables and counters.
• Clean windows and glass doors in public areas.
• Assist with light groundskeeping tasks such as picking up litter, sweeping exterior walkways, and maintaining the cleanliness of the campus.
• Assist the Groundskeeper with minor outdoor maintenance, including weeding, watering plants, and keeping outdoor seating areas tidy.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the Facilities Manager.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and used in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial experience in a school, office, or similar setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks without direct supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (based on experience experience).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
