We’re looking for an innovative and forward-thinking Graphic Design Practice Leader to join our growing team at Bergmeyer. This position can be based in any of our home offices—Boston, Los Angeles, or Columbus.

In this role, you will be responsible for working collaboratively to shape the creative direction of our graphic design practice, mentoring a team of talented designers, and setting high standards of visual communication in projects across all markets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative design solutions that elevate our brand and meet project and client objectives.

You will play a key role in business development, contributing to the growth of the environmental graphics and branding discipline at Bergmeyer by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development. You will also play stewardship role for our internal brand, working with our team of designers to ensure its consistent expression across digital, physical, and social media channels. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of leading successful design initiatives across a broad range of assignments.

Qualifications:

• Professional degree in Graphic Design or related field
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in graphic design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

Essential Skills and Responsibilities

• Proven experience leading and managing design teams, including mentoring and developing talent in a collaborative environment
• Exceptional creative thinking, with a strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and branding
• Willingness and appetite to contribute to business development efforts and an entrepreneurial spirit towards growing the practice, including materials for new business submissions and meetings with potential clients
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and buy-in for concepts across diverse stakeholders
• High degree of comfort with interdisciplinary teams
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, understanding their design needs and presenting creative solutions while managing complex design deliverables
• Deliver on all phases of design, from strategic direction to concept design through to the execution of technical documentation (pricing/bid documents) and artwork for print, digital and three-dimensional applications ensuring all outputs are visually compelling, on brand, and meet client requirements
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Self-motivated with an ability to work quickly and independently, in an organized manner

*The base salary will be estimated to be between $110,000 - $135,000 contingent on relevant experience plus profit sharing and benefits.
