Looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a Feed Mill Operator / Driver - CDL
Shift: Full-time DAY shift, Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends during peak times, Home Every Day.
What you’ll do:
The Feed Mill Operator / Driver maintains feed ingredients, processes feed orders, and provides general maintenance and record keeping. You are also responsible to deliver soybean meal from plant to our mill.
Daily duties include:
- Daily feed deliveries to appropriate bins and barns sites in local and surrounding areas
- Maintains inventory of feed ingredients
- Operates forklift and other equipment safely
- Additionally, the mill operator must be able to work and make decisions independently and as part of a team
- Performs daily and routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to supervisor
- Daily housekeeping of office and mill area
- Follow all safety rules and practices and encourage coworkers to do the same
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 75 pounds with reasonable accommodation
- Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and supervisors
- Regular, consistent attendance
- Dependable transportation is required, as well as a Class A CDL
- Operates semi-tractor with grain or feed trailer in a safe manner
- Drives courteously and safely
- Cleans equipment
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
- Performs related activities as directed
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience and knowledge of agriculture, feed ingredients, and the feed manufacturing process preferred
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisors
- Must be able to work and make decisions both independently and as part of a team
- Truck drivers must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have at least one year of relevant experience, or have any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
- The position requires a valid CDL license and a clean driving record at all times
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving and the ability to safely drive various vehicles is required
