POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and overseeing a team involved in the fabrication and assembly of air-cooled chillers. This role will also support various other operational areas as needed. The Supervisor will ensure adherence to the manufacturing schedule while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Other responsibilities include task delegation, process improvement, employee training, and development. The position will also assist in the hiring process and enforce company policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and directs a team by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in recruiting, selecting, onboarding, training, and mentoring employees.
- Focuses on driving a culture safety, quality, and productivity.
- Analyzes, develops, and recommends ideas and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems, and improve efficiencies, product quality, and revenue.
- Provides leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
- Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Utilizes Lean principles and practices to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize the manufacturing process.
- Adheres to Company’s policies and procedures and leads by example.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or technical field; a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
