Injection Molding Machine Operator

As a result of continued growth, Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly opening for Injection Molding Machine Operators reporting to the Production Supervisor.
General Responsibilities
- Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
- Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
- Maintaining material supplies to machines
- Packaging and labeling of WIP/Finished Goods
- Stretch wrapping and storage of product
- Dispose of scrap into proper containers
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It System
- Duties as assigned per Production Supervisor
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and to work while standing for 12 hours
- Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands
Injection Operator Responsibilities
- Ensure machines are running as per production schedule
- Responding to machine alarms
- Documentation of quality checks at set intervals
- Documentation of production paperwork
- Documentation of process adjustments
- Packaging and tagging of product
- Troubleshooting of process and accessory equipment
- Preventative maintenance of molds as prescribed
- Daily and weekly sanitizing of machines and molds
- Changeover of machines for different products
- Issuing work orders for machine, molds and safety issues
- Document machine issues in OPS tracker
- Lines set up and verified per Docushare
- Documentation of master cleaning schedules
- Startup/shutdown of injection machines
- Ensures machines are running as per production schedule
- Responding to machine alarms
- Documentation of production paperwork
- Collection of plant scrap at the end of shift or as necessary during shift; weigh and enter into system
- Color Changes (Plastrac, Movacolor and Wittman)
- Enter machine issues into document management system (OPS Tracker)
- Lines set up and verified per the document management system (Docushare)
- Documentation of cleaning, housekeeping in SPC
- Complete Quality Checks (bingo trays, visuals, perform checks)
- Ensure Quality Checks are documented in SPC and signed off on at set interval
Skills
- Basic math skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment
Experience
- 1 year manufacturing experience in injection molding
Education
- High school diploma is preferred
This position operates on a 3-2-2-3 schedule working 12 hour shifts from 7:00PM to 7:00AM.
